FedEx Driver Robbed During Delivery Shoots Back And Kills Robber

In Philadelphia, a FedEx driver was shot by an armed robber while making a delivery. Fortunately, the driver had a legal firearm and returned fire, killing the assailant. The incident occurred on Unruh Avenue, and the 32-year-old driver was robbed of his wallet and keys before being shot by the 27-year-old suspect, Jevan Lundy. Lundy had a criminal history, and the FedEx driver, wounded but expected to recover, defended himself.

Authorities are investigating whether there was an accomplice to the robbery, with an individual in custody for questioning. Police believe this person may have driven Lundy to the scene. The evidence will be presented to a grand jury to determine if charges will be filed against the FedEx driver, who possessed a legally registered handgun and a permit for carrying it.

Acting Police Commissioner Christine Coulter stated, “Based on the preliminary story that was relayed, it appears to be self-defense: he was shot first. He fired back.” The incident was unrelated to other crimes in the area and is not considered a random occurrence.
