Another Woke Company Announces X Ad Boycott

Walmart Joins Ad Boycott Against Elon Musk’s Platform

In the wake of perceived antisemitic comments from Elon Musk, major advertisers such as Warner Brothers, Disney, and Comcast have pulled their ads from Musk’s platform, “X.” Walmart, the largest U.S. retailer, has now joined this trend, citing a shift to more effective advertising platforms. A Walmart spokesperson stated, “We aren’t advertising on X as we’ve found other platforms to better reach our customers.”

Despite Walmart’s claim, X’s head of business operations, Joe Benarroch, highlighted the platform’s massive user base of over a million online shoppers. Advertisers leaving X, influenced by left-leaning pressure, view Musk as anti-Jewish due to a controversial post. Musk, unapologetic and known for his free-speech stance, criticized former advertisers during The New York Times event, telling them to “Go f*ck yourself.”

While Musk’s platform transformation aims for free expression, the ad boycott may pose a financial challenge, potentially resulting in a revenue loss of up to $75 million. Yet, Musk remains steadfast, raising questions about the long-term impact on X’s financial stability and Musk’s unyielding stance on free speech.
