Tom Hanks’ Son Thwarts Home Robbery, Officer Injured

In the early hours of Monday, Nov. 6, Chet Hanks, son of actor Tom Hanks, confronted an intruder attempting to rob his Los Angeles home. Despite the late hour, Chet, aged 33, promptly engaged with the 42-year-old suspect. Reports indicate he managed to land a punch before the police arrived. The suspect, however, resisted arrest, leading to a scuffle.

Law enforcement sources revealed that during the arrest, the intruder fell backward, breaking a deputy’s leg. Both were subsequently hospitalized, with the suspect later cleared and taken into custody for burglary. Chet emerged physically unharmed from the incident. The extent of the intruder’s entry into the home and what, if anything, was taken remains unclear. The case is expected to be reviewed by the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office. The incident underscores Chet Hanks’ quick response to safeguard his property, resulting in an unfortunate injury to a law enforcement officer in the process.
